New Job...

I'd better pull myself together asap as I am starting (yet another) new job as of July 1st... And the three-day training starts tomorrow!

I will work as a Kindergarten teacher at a DC Public Charter called Mundo Verde, a Spanish speaking Elementary School with emphasis on environmental education and sustainability. Dig that!

Let's hope all the children are well-behaving, true sweethearts... as you would expect 5-year-olds to be!

A Tiny Pink Thought

Well, it's not the best of days. Am feeling blue rather than pink, actually.

I dream, yes, I dream about a relationship with a man. A kind of relationship that you wouldn't have to be alert all the time, that it will go bad all of a sudden. Yet, I know I am a big part of the problem. Always. Am not an easy person to be with. Maybe it's not them, maybe it's me. There's a lot of wrong with me.

But still, I now feel that the a n g e r some men have towards me... it is unbelievable. Where does it come from? Hurtful words. Diminishing me into an insect. Undermining all I am or do. Why? Am I "fucking crazy"? Am I a "stupid whore"? No, I am not. And never will be.

Can Hardly Bear It

Since my mother left, I am not working as a waitress anymore... It wouldn't be worthwhile to get another 24/7 babysitter.... and also, it happens to be SUMMER and in a couple of days, the kids' school ends and we'll be TOGETHER, before they travel to Spain for a whole month, just like every summer.

Right now, I have a rare FREE night, as the kids are spending the night at their dad's. I can't bear having so much time... so much for JUST for myself!! Ha ha! Of course I can! Have been organizing my writing work, scrolling over my fave blogs, cleaning up my messy nest and... actually just added another coat of nail polish.

Maia's Pet

Maia frequently complains that "no one loves Pinky anymore!" She's jealous for her guinea pig not getting as much attention as our dog Bambina. Of course we love Pinky! And if you ask Pinky, he'll probably say: "Hell, no more attention, plz! Hey u lady, couchya pass me those spinach leaves over there. Pronto!"

Sun Shines After the Rain

Yesterday, it was raining cats and dogs in DC, and some parts of the East Coast had a tornado alert like "seek shelter immediately"... Wau! Today you couldn't tell. It's a most beautiful, sunny day and there's nothing left of the water. And it really was pouring like some curtain... as we were having dinner at a terrasse.

The picture? Isn't it awesome? I came across this beautiful madonna-and-child shot on Pinterest

Mumma hummailee PART IV

My mom spent some time with us - from the end of March until beginning of June... It was not the first time as you know, know and know. And it was again oh, so great to have her here!

While my mom was here, I could go back to being like in my 20's again (and I did!), free as a bird, no strings attached. Kids? Maybe one day...

Yep! Now it's reality-bites-time for this 20-year-old again: Preteen tantrums, hours at pools and water parks eating sun-melted sandwiches..., early nights and earlier even mornings... BUT nevertheless, LOVE it! it's SUMMER and here's a random compilation of the things we did...

It was still cold as in Russian hell... and we awaited for warmer days, each in their own way.

Along came the first signs of spring, and finally the BLOSSOMS! A lot of photographing as I had the Spotted by Locals assignment underway, kids' hobbies, fundraisers, my crazy hours as a waitress in Mari Vanna...
Two maniacs in Georgetown...

Maia's performance at Sitar Arts Center fundraiser at Mexican Cultural Center

DC Annual Sakura Matsuri Festival
Both of my kids now want to "work as a waiter" as they grow up...
Kids at school, me at work, my mom escaped her grim reality of a 24/7 babysitter to the streets and Museums of DC... to get ideas for her art, to enjoy the colors and to feel the vibe of a big city.

One morning I woke up to some serious "stsirping" of some chicks... We had Rosa (Parks) and Abigail (Adams) for the loooong Memorial weekend! And then there was Luis's STAR performance as Willie Wonka in his school's musical Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory... AND we visited an Indian POWWOW in Charles, Maryland.

Embassies' Open Doors Day
Cinco de mayo at the Mall
A rare family outing... (The kids behaved like some retards! My mom's smile is forced...)

Baby chicks Rosa and Abigail on my arm and my chest... Nice :/
LOL! Bambi found a shady spot!!! (pic above)
So much in common!
Gladly, I was at work when these scenes took place...
All in all, we ALL miss her so very much BUT take a wild guess, WHO misses her most?

Mumman mölkökoila, ronttipeä!
